Within this blog I will be continuing the message of the small print in life, the unseen consequences. What are you letting in?
We're going deep into the spiritual realm of revenge, pain, and how the unseen influences around us are shaping, who we become.
I want you to think back to when we were kids.
What do we say when someone hits us first? They hit us first!
Why did we have to say that; because we hit them back and now, we are the ones in trouble. Why?? Hitting back carries consequences; Gods words make it clear…. revenge belongs to him and if you hit back, whether with your mouth, with your emotions, or even your silence it still costs you. Some of us are walking around with invisible wounds lashing out, not because we're evil, but because we're injured and these wounds, they're not always physical, they're not always emotional, or mental, sometimes they come from the small print we didn't see. Like food, it looks good, it's cheap, and it satisfies for a moment, but what's in it… sugars, toxins empty calories. The small print shows up later has high blood pressure, fatigue or worse. Just like how toxic messages that you ingest through your eye gates, or your ear gates wrapped up in good visuals, a music video, a political speech, or even a conversation. These can silently rewrite your morals, motives and mindset, both in seen and in unseen ways, sometimes instant and sometimes gradually over a period of time.
Consider, what are you allowing in? What are you opening the door to access your mind, your will and your emotions, your soul? Question, that once you choose to watch “this” to listen to “this”, or for something to enter your body. How will this influence your character, your morals, your principles, your motives, your intentions, your actions, your behaviors, your beliefs, your habits.
The fruit of what you ingest is what we'll come to harvest. It could be certain songs which will make you highly sexualized, sad, violent or empowered, right?
That is the fruit that you are ingesting and accepting into you?
Exposing your soul to?
From that which you ingest is what you harvest. Review your past and see what your harvest has been. What have you been ingesting and look at the fruits and the harvest that has been created from it?
I want to refer to you,
Matthew 13: 24- 43 KJV
24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
The tares is the bad things that have entered, and the wheat is the good things that have entered, and now I've talked in other podcasts about your dark and your light side, right, the things that we ingest and the choices that we have to make…. there's always going to be a dark and there's going to be a light. In this scenario of tares is the dark, wheat is the light.
So anything that is of darkness will be burnt up. And that which is good, will be gathered into the barn. Okay, that is your harvest… now another part of the parable in Matthew.
Matthew 13: 31- 32 KJV
31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
He’s saying the Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed. All you need is a small mustard seed to believe. So I mentioned hard hearted people, they don't even want to consider anything, but the minute you have a mustard seed and give it a chance, you know, you have that faith, something typically, we don't seek God until something happens, right? So that's a mustard seed that gets planted that is something you are now choosing to put within you…faith…so that it will harvest and grow into a big tree and your faith will grow.
I think it's important to know what words mean. Before we continue, here are a few definitions that will help us.
Verse 25 reads, "But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way." When it says "slept," it means more than just being asleep at night. It also points to a state of being unguarded spiritually, living by our carnal desires. Our fleshy, and worldy ways being spiritually blind.
Carnal = can also be described as “earthly”, or “wordly” but basically means thinking about and wanting things that have to do with your body and physical feelings, like wanting food, being comfortable, sexual urges, and earthly, material aspects of life. It can also mean focusing on things in the world around us instead of things that are spiritual or about your mind. The term is used to describe actions or behaviors that are driven by physical desires rather than spiritual or intellectual considerations.
This verse highlights that we must be aware and vigilant in all aspects of our lives, including our dreams.
The vigilance is crucial because when we are spiritually asleep or living carnally, our judgment can become clouded. We might start to see things that are harmful as good, and things that are truly good as restrictive or negative. This very danger is what the prophet Isaiah addresses in chapter 5, verse 20: "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
Evil = There are several Aramaic translations for evil: it can refer to moral evil, bad quality, misfortune, wickedness, ungodly, debt, sin in the sense of missing the mark or making an error, unripe as something not yet fully developed or in its proper state.
I had a significant realization that our intentions, even when we believe they are good, can produce negative consequences. The "bad" outcome that contradicted our perceived "good" happened because our initial intention stemmed from a worldly, rather than a spiritual, perspective or biblical principle. Which, from a spiritual and biblical standpoint, was actually harmful in that situation.
When the root of our thinking is carnal, and not aligned with spiritual or biblical truth, is where what we deemed as good is actually evil. This applies to all aspects of life – our relationship with ourselves through self-care, eating habits, finances, and intentions with others. We can be deceived by the pleasure something offers, leading us to judge it as normal or "good" through our worldly understanding and enjoyment in something based on what feels good, assuming it's acceptable, or justifiable. Not foreseeing the potential negative consequences that became invisible when we prioritized that immediate pleasure or when following societal norms without spiritual discernment.
So, when we operate from a carnal perspective, prioritizing what feels good in the moment without spiritual insight, about what's true in the Bible. We walk in a form of ignorance which means lack of knowledge or information of God's truth and the real consequences of our choices. Recall the prophet Hosea in chapter 4, verse 6, with a sobering message: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
I'll share with you a personal story about myself, before I came into this knowledge I saw the movie Set It Off with my sister and a friend when I was younger. We left feeling sad, angry, yet full of ideas… but in the wrong way.
That movie planted seeds in us and maybe was not the intention of the movie to promote violence or ways to seek money quickly in times we may feel are our only options.
In the movie it gave a lot of examples. We begin by pursuing the legal and right ways first to get out of our current problem, not recognizing the enemy may close those doors to wrangle us into desperation, fear, and hopelessness.
It doesn't necessarily mean that was the truest of intention of that movie, to promote only those scenarios as an out. However, what I know now is that I was not aware of other options when I was younger, and a lot of us are not. When we're watching movies, videos, social media, listening to music or other people… depending on where your mindset is, the environment you have known, what your character is, the character of the people you know and who you seek advice from, your morals, your values, whatever level of mindset, emotions, and beliefs you are in as a way to survive….this movie as an example plants seeds, that seed could’ve grown into actions that can hurt an individual physically, and their soul (mind, will, and emotions) it can also make a person believe that options presented in that movie was the only way to get out of financial indebtedness, and scarcity.
Options presented in darkness vs. options in the light where God makes a way out of no way. To pray to stand in faith that things will work for the good in the unseen… but because there is a timeframe the enemy puts on us we condemn ourselves, we commit ourselves to something that can domino affect us into further darkness vs moving closer to God and his way out. I was not aware of that and a lot of us is not aware of other options. I ask you to read the book of Job there was so much happening to that man and what he had to endure until the test of the enemy upon Jobs faith failed, or the time limit had ended with Job in the end was being blessed with the reward of remaining in faith and having that mustard seed.
What we don’t know, we don’t know and we do the best we can. , and I think that's one of the blessings where, once you come into a better awareness, we might want to hang our head in shame and guilt about the things we did in our past, but that's where the blessing of the Bible verse that says “the old has passed away and the new is here as a new creation in Christ”, that's the whole reason why it's such a blessing, what Jesus did for us.
Once we come into knowledge, then we can let go and forgive ourselves, and we can forgive others. Again, that's a journey, and you could look at my podcasts about my journey, and how many times I had to talk about forgiveness, how many things I learned about forgiveness, because forgiveness it's not easy, because we're always looking at the fleshly level of forgiveness, and it takes some time as you heal, as you grow to finally come into understanding and to really get that forgiveness give that forgiveness to yourself and to others, so that they remembered no more, because we have all fallen, we've all committed some type of sin.
With that being said just because we have faith in God doesn't mean the situation is going to end immediately but what I will say and refer you to
Proverbs 10:22 AMP
22 The blessing of the Lord brings [true] riches, And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God].
So again, when we talk about our intentions, if we do so on a fleshly level, it may have bad consequences. However, any blessings from the Lord, any true riches, then he adds no sorrow to it for it comes as a blessing from God. So think about it like the more we feel trapped in survival mode, the intense focus on just getting by and being selfish about our needs, the more we tend to fall back into our basic worldly ways of thinking and solving problems. We lean on what feels familiar and easy in the moment.
Think about it: the more we feel trapped in "survival mode"—that intense focus on just getting by and being selfish about our needs—the more we tend to fall back on our basic, worldly ways of thinking and solving problems. We lean on what feels familiar and easy in the moment, our "carnal survival ways," and our timeframes, instead of looking for God's guidance and spiritual solutions, and what is it you can learn and how you can apply God’s word, God’s promises into the scenario. Because there's always some type of learning opportunity, like for instance if you're facing a certain situation, you know, you're always to look at yourself first.
1. What were my actions that led me to this situation I'm dealing with right now?
2. In what way, if it was something emotional to question what ways have I acted like this? so that I can now have grace and mercy in this situation and utilize this to heal my pain, but then also not add to that other person's pain
3. How can we come to some type of peaceful resolution?
We have all been there, and I can't say that enough, we've been there. We've all had situations in our lives that truly we felt was no other way, and we had to do something everything feels so urgent and overwhelming in that survival mindset, however we can actually miss the good things God is trying to show us. We might not see the opportunities of growing us in character, morals, values, principles, and faith. We might not see the open doors He's providing as a way out. We might even overlook the blessings we already have because we're so focused on just surviving and holding onto what we think we need.
Sometimes, the very thing we're fighting so hard to keep—that thing we're in survival mode for—is actually what God wants us to let go of. It might even be something that's hurting us, but we're clinging to it tightly. When we don't release those things, they can become like idols in our lives, something we value more than God's way.
I’ve learned if we're not aligned with God’s will, if we're still stuck in that carnal survival mode, we might still fight to keep what God is trying to free us from. We might miss His grace and the opportunities He's offering for a better way out. Instead, we might just keep pursuing those worldly, "carnal" solutions. God might start by gently nudging us, whispering through our conscience about these things. But if we don't listen to those whispers, those convictions can grow louder and louder the feelings are intensifying, the situation is intensifying around us until they reach a point where that thing is finally taken away from us—sometimes in a painful way—in order to actually save us from it. Or He releases you to honor your free will, which can sometimes dig us into an even deeper hole and create even bigger problems for ourselves.
So what’s the solution?
A real relationship with God. Not religion. Not hype. But knowing who God is, what Jesus came to do as he lead by example; showing us how to walk in love, overcome evil with good, and reclaim our spiritual identity reconciling us to God. It is through His resurrection, we now carry the Holy Spirit—our Helper, Counselor, Guide and Teacher aiding us in prayer, our daily lives, our daily decisions, renewal of the mind, revealer of what is in your heart and mind that you are needing to repent for, to forgive or to be delivered from.
I ask that you read:
John 14:17
John 14:26
2 peter 1:3
1 Corinthians 6:19
1 Corinthians 6:11
1 John 1:9
Romans 5:5
Romans 8:5-6
Then through Jesus name, and the blood of Christ through his sacrifice for us all in order that we be saved can take authority to overcome the enemy.
All of this is why we are to be aware of the small print and the unseen consequences of what we are letting into our temple.
God wants you to be transformed. To renew your mind. To recognize that your temple is sacred.
So today, I challenge you:
· Forgive - a lot of things will not be resolved in your life until you truly forgive yourself and others that have hurt you knowing or unknowingly.
· Repent - means to change your ways… cleaning yourself up internally, repentance begins within…one step at a time, praying for help, change your ways internally and externally
· Surrender your pain - that's part of forgiveness, and repentance, and this takes time
· Seek the truth of God’s Word - not just on Sunday but literally every day, if you do not understand something, pray about it.
And remember: every decision you make, every influence you take in—has fruit.
· Ask yourself:
o Are you being led by the flesh and its solutions, or led by the spirit and its solutions
o is it feeding my flesh… or feeding my spirit?
You are not alone. The Holy Spirit is waiting to lead you. But it starts with a decision.
I mentioned that, my decision. Was not with an awareness of any of these things I just told you. This was learned through having to experience it and it all started with things in my life that I had to pray about.
That prayer. When it's answered. It will lead you to a path that will be of truth that will set you free. Again, it was an instant. It's not a quick snap of the finger that things just instantly occur, but it can.. It can. I also mentioned, Jesus is a teacher and if he did not take the time to teach you.. what lessons would be learned?
Not only that, what testimony will you have? What way would you be able to help another individual, if you had no knowledge or anything to help that person with how to overcome their trials in life? Everything begins with the mustard seed of faith and reaching out through prayer, not giving up, and changing your ways. It looks so much different than what you know; what you're used to, but that's where faith comes in? Okay. So I think I'll leave it here. There's more to come, but I just wanted to give you a little bit more insight about that small print in life in a different way because, I've recognized that hearing things in different ways help you understand it a little bit differently and I hope you guys have a blessed night.
